IN/OUT AT SECONDARY 1ST LEVEL ENGLISH LESSON

Last Wednesday the 8th, we had a new student at our English lesson. He was Pascual, Carla's father, who stayed with us during all the lesson. He participated, voluntarily, in our "In /Out project" so he wanted to know how an English lesson was.
Before coming into the classroom, I spoke to him and I tried to explain the importance to be a student just for a while, in order to see a usual English lesson. Pascual, who is a person with a good English level and a very easy going person, accepted.
He took part in a cooperative group. The rest of the members of his group shared stuff and helped him as much as he needed.
I didn't change, anyway, my "classroom planning". So he had to do what it was programmed for that day: "Listening", "Checking Writing homework" and " ClassDojo weekly evaluation". Also, he was a real witness of how "learning standards about written comprehension" were evaluated at the classroom. Even he used the cooperative technique"1,2,4" for checking listening activities by means of the digital book.
He was so surprised about how different everything was, compared to the time he studied obviously, that he asked me if students got to know how everything worked. And I told students, from his cooperative group, to answer him. They just opened their cooperative book and explained to him everything about: functions, rules, monthly compromises, planning, agreements and so on.
To sum up, just one word, from my point of view, to summarize Pascual's experience:
                                                      " ASTONISHMENT".

Now I show you Pascual's direct words, that he has written to me,  about his experience:

Gracias.
Experiencia que nunca olvidaremos padres e hijos"
